January is upon us and this month feels huge! Not only is it a new year but a whole new decade! I know many of us make new year’s resolutions, but many don’t stick to them.
Staying healthy is my top resolution for the year and that is one reason I make meal plans. I know that I will derail from Trim Healthy Mama so fast if I don’t have a plan, especially at dinner time.
This month’s meal plan is full of meals that are family-friendly and I know that my kids will (mostly) eat without complaint. I try to only repeat a meal once within the month with the exception of pizza because that is a weekly staple in my house.
This month I have planned for at least one meatless dinner meal per week. This really helps with savings on my grocery budget. I budget $450/month for my family of 7. If you’ve ever wondered how I can feed my family frugally, but still stay on THM, then you’ll want to read this article. It is doable, it just takes a bit of creativity.
For the month of January, I’ll be using two cookbooks – Trim Healthy Table and the Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook. I also have quite a few online recipes mixed in as well.
In addition to this month of dinner meals, each Monday I come out with a full meal plan for the week. By full meal plan, I mean that I plan out all meals, snacks and drinks.
All of these meal plans are FREE, printable and come with a printable shopping list too. If you’d like to see some samples of my full meal plans, you can find them here. To ensure that you never miss a post you can sign-up to be on my e-mail subscriber list too. See the picture below on how to find out where to subscribe.
As always, a shopping list is included with these dinner meal plans. My goal is to make it as easy as possible for you and your family to stay on plan.
This meal plan covers five weeks. I find that it helps me to have five full weeks planned out, that way if I don’t get my meal plan done before the first of the month I have a couple of days of leeway in there. Although having a blog is usually the motivation I need to get it done on time.
***I have a family of 7 so these meals all serve at least 7. Many of the meals leave leftovers even for my size family.***

Hi, I’m really interested in trying the meal plan, but I don’t understand “spaghetti over meat sauce with cauli rice”. Are you serving meat sauce over rice for you and over spaghetti for your fam? Thanks in advance for clarifying!
darciesdish_ue8jdv says
Yes. I make the sauce like normal and then serve mine over cauli rice and over pasta for my family.
Vivi says
Thanks. Any particular recipe/product?
Thanks for putting these plans together!
darciesdish_ue8jdv says
You just want one without added sugar so check the label. Aldi sells one as well as Great Value brand at Wal-Mart.
Melissa Moore says
“Cauli rice” is short for cauliflower that has been riced–so there is no actual rice involved, just cauliflower–just clarifying! 🙂
darciesdish_ue8jdv says
Yes you are correct. Cauliflower that has been riced, no actual rice involved. ?

Hi Darcie,
I am brand new to THM and just got their THM cookbook. With all the holidays and birthdays in my family this month I have not been on plan. I was just thinking I need to sit down and meal plan (which I’m horrible at) and i recieved your email. Thank you so much for this post!! All your recipes look delish! I’m especially looking forward to trying your Mexican recipes, being Mexican myself, I need my food. The only actual meal that I have tried from their cookbook is the trim taco train soup, which nobody liked…
Here’s to a new year! Thanks again!

I hope you find some meals that you like on my meal plan!

Is there a problem with the fat head pizza link? Or is it just my connection?

It looks likr the owner of that blog has shut down her site which is sad. However, I found a very similar recipe.
